Help Jay’s Support the Food Bank of Larimer County through Buy a Meal/Gift a Meal

Jay’s is excited to announce our annual “Buy a Meal/Gift a Meal” holiday program. With every $50 gift card purchase Jay’s will donate a scrumptious meal to those individuals and families most in need during the holidays. We are putting together a terrific pot pie that will be a filling meal!  Working in partnership with the Food Bank for Larimer County, our goal this year is to donate 500 pot pies.

Please, consider joining the cause by purchasing a gift card between now and December 24th.  Jay’s will prepare the meals throughout December to be dropped off at the Food Bank. Jay’s is also accepting donations for our “Buy a Meal/Gift a Meal” holiday program. Your $10 donation will buy 1 prepared meal for those most in need.  Your generosity will help ensure Happy Holidays for many in our community! You can learn more about Jay’s philanthropic efforts by visiting our Philanthropy Web Page.

Employee Spotlight Kaitlyn Drexler

What is your favorite dish at Jay’s?
It’s so hard just to pick one dish from our beautiful restaurant but if I had to choose, I would say my favorite dish is definitely the bison ribeye.

Where is the most exciting place you have ever been?
Well I am not too well traveled but the most exciting place I have ever been is definitely my home, Pawleys Island, South Carolina. The food, friends and beaches is really what makes that little town shine

Do you have a special talent, guilty pleasure or interesting hobby you’d like to share?
One of my favorite things to do when I’m not hosting at Jays is working on my 2003 10th Anniversary Package Ford Mustang.

General Manager Update

We are excited to share some updates regarding our general manager position: Maddison Garrow, who you all know and love, has resumed her role as bar manager.  We can’t thank her enough for her hard work, we wouldn’t be where we are today without her loyalty and dedication.

We have recently hired a new General Manager, Johnny Mullins.

Hailing from New York City, Johnny joins Jay’s Bistro as general manager, laying down a new foothold in Colorado, specifically Fort Collins. He brings his thirty plus years of experience in the restaurant industry, starting as a cook at Pasadena, California’s Mi Piace and making his way to executive chef, under the guidance of chef François Kwaku-Dongo. This opportunity led to his passion for food and career in the restaurant industry.

Deciding to move to New York City in 1998, from Southern California, Johnny
ventured on a career path of making a name for himself in the city. Starting as a
Sous Chef in Brooklyn, he quickly rose to rank of executive chef. In 2014, while
holding the position of executive chef, Johnny made his debut in the front of house management role for The District, a bustling Upper East Side gastropub. This is where he flourished pairing wines, liquor and craft beer with his seasonal menu offerings. Employing his acumen of opening new establishments, launching innovative dining concepts, and managing successful hospitality operations, Johnny has developed proficiency in the areas of restaurant management, administration and guest relations.

Johnny consistently translates his own restaurant ideals and familiarity to his
guest’s dining experience. He considers himself a part of the team and looks
forward to imparting his knowledge and experience in the industry, to team members. Johnny strives to make every visit to Jay’s Bistro a memorable one. While being new to downtown Fort Collins, he is looking forward to meeting Jay’s regular patrons and making new friends along the way. Outside of the restaurant, Johnny enjoys taking his dog to parks, hiking with his partner, skiing and riding, as well as building, customized motorbikes on his down time.
